I first met Boss over seven years ago. His parents, Justin and Hanh, had just adopted a five year old staffy who would very quickly win himself a place in their hearts, home (and bed!).

The thing that struck me first was “Gee - this is one proud dog-Dad”. Justin and Hanh are a laidback couple, but there’s a smirk that Justin gets on his face when he spoke about Boss that says I have the best dog in the world, and I know it.

Over the years since that first photoshoot, I’ve got to know Boss myself and I can personally confirm - he’s a damn awesome boy! Energetic, loving, relaxed, stubborn and totally loyal. He could chase a ball for hours, but is equally happy snuggled up beside you on the couch.

The news of his terminal cancer was devastating. Justin and Hanh set about filling Boss’s final days with as much love, fun and adventures as they possibly could. And just as I’d had the honour of celebrating the start of their life together all those years ago, I was there to say goodbye.
