About the Project
The Barking Beautiful Project is a collection of stories by female photographers around the world. Together, we are dedicated to celebrating women, body positivity and self-love.
When I first heard about the project, I was instantly excited. My own relationship with my body and self-image has been a journey. I’ve struggled with eating disorders since I was a teenager, and it’s only been in the last few years that I’ve finally found myself coming to a place of acceptance and learning to love myself.
Using the power of photography, the Barking Beautiful project shows women of all different shapes, sizes, cultures and ages just how beautiful they truly are.
I’m so thrilled to be a part of this movement and I hope that you will join me!

WHAT’S INVOLVED?
First of all - I want to know all about you! Submit your story by applying online - you can also nominate someone you love to take part, too.
If your application is successful, then I’ll be in touch and together we’ll plan your special photoshoot - from hair & makeup, to outfit choices and location recommendations.
You and your dog will enjoy the totally awesome Ragamuffin Photo Experience. It’s all about letting your natural beauty shine through - I’ll gently guide you when necessary and focus on capturing that special connection that you share with your four-legged bestie.
After our photoshoot, the Ragamuffin team will be busy getting everything perfect for your big reveal. You’ll join me here at the Showroom in Newport, to watch your very own Session Film on the big screen and look through our finished portraits. Warning - lots of happy tears tend to happen here!
At the end of the project, the 25 Barking Beautiful sessions will be featured on the official Barking Beautiful website. As a thank you for their time, heart and soul, we are gifting each of the participants their very own matted, fine art print from the session.
We will also have beautiful prints and albums available to purchase if you are interested (absolutely no obligation though!). Please note, digital files and prints are not included with Barking Beautiful photoshoots.

We want to honour that.
The Barking Beautiful project aims to capture women through the eyes of their dogs. By focusing on what makes each woman unique, her inner beauty shines through.
